I chose this piece because it's unlike the Calcite formations you usually see. The long, almost blade-like crystals have these incredible dark tips that contrast against the softer peach and champagne tones. Then, tucked between the larger points, there's all this delicate, sugary crystal growth that gives it another layer of detail. It's dramatic, unusual and a little otherworldly. Exactly the kind of specimen that makes me stop and look twice.
